Trish and Sophie

Brad has worked with my family for years now helping us to train our extremely bright, loving westies. Sophie initially was my parents dog and Belle was an only pup at my house. My parents got Gracie, another westie, to keep Sophie company but it turned out to be a dangerous combination. Although the behavior started out mild and hard to notice, it became evident that something was not working right between these two dogs. Brad worked continually with my parents in their home to identify the issues between the dogs. After 6-9 months of training Brad finally helped my parents determine that Sophie and Gracie sadly could simply not be in the same house together. Brad was able to identify, and accurately show us, the intimidation tactics that Gracie was covertly using and how this was slowly changing Sophie's entire personality. She would cower in her crate 90% of the day, she growled at others and engaged in fighting with Gracie that ended in my parents getting bitten trying to come between them. Thanks to Brad's hard work, incredible ability to help us understand the minds of dogs, and dedication to seeing a happy ending for our pups, Sophie now lives with my husband, Belle and I and is a whole new dog. Brad helped us adjust Sophie to her new environment and ensure that Sophie and Belle did not start to become like Gracie and Sophie were...Sophie is now wagging her tail again, energetic and plays with toys without taking them into her crate to hide. She is social and loving, just like the Sophie we remember before Gracie came along. Brad's help truly saved Sophie's life. We are eternally grateful for the training and insight Brad provided.

Dave & Cheri and Apollo

Our Doberman Apollo was pulling us very hard on walks whenever he saw anybody else on the street. We tried a lot of things and we called the breeder for some advice. The breeder recommended that we get an e-collar. We purchased the collar and every time Apollo pulled us on the leash we gave him a shock from the collar. The pulling stopped for the most part but instead of pulling Apollo just started showing aggression towards anyone that he saw. We weren't sure how to handle that and a friend of ours recommended we call Team Canine. Brad came out to the house and after a few minutes of talking he informed us that the reason Apollo had become aggressive towards people on the walks was because he was associating the pain from the collar with the presence of other people not with his pulling. He showed us how to desensitize Apollo with praise and reinforcement and after a few months or without any shocking and just reinforcing the behavior we wanted, his aggression went away. He's happy on his walks and so are our neighbors! Thanks Brad, from Apollo!

Mark & Jill and Trevor

Trevor was a 3 month old Jack Russell Terrier that was terrorizing us! We watched a trainer on TV and tried some of the advice but it only made him more worked up. Mark's mother bought us a copy of Conversations With Courtney and we read it straight through in about 2 hours. We applied Courtney's advice (especially the TOO MUCH FREEDOM) and felt right away that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. We didn't realize at first that Brad lived in Phoenix. Once we found out we were delighted and enrolled Trevor (we mean us) into a puppy class. Trevor graduated puppy class and is enrolling in a basic manners class. Courtney saved the day!

Alicia and Crash

Crash is a rescue dog about 4 or 5 years old. He's always been a good dog but there were a few little issues that I couldn't correct. I was surfing the net and found Conversations with Courtney and ordered it, not really knowing what to expect. I LOVED IT! It was so fun to read and I fell in love with Courtney and Smudge. The story created a shift in my thinking and I was able to change the way I was reacting to Crash and his behavior changed. I guess we can thank Courtney for changing my behavior first...thanks!

Chris and Mark and Sherlock

Thanks, Brad (and Courtney), for helping us to wake up and REALLY pay attention to our relationships with the dog world, and with our dogs specifically. Mark and I had just been through a heartbreaking experience with one of our our previous dogs. We knew that we wanted to approach this new little guy (Sherlock) differently. Brad made it so easy for us to do this. Now Sherlock, Ruby, and Bijou are now our best teachers. We feel much gratitude, Brad.
